Astrid Van Weyenberg is Assistant Professor in Cultural Analysis at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS). She is the author of The Politics of Adaptation: Contemporary African Drama and Greek Tragedy (Brill, 2013) and co-editor of Peripheral Visions in the Globalizing Present (Brill, 2016). She is also the co-editor of the Special Issues Narrating 'Europe': A Contested Imagined Community (Politique européenne, 2020) and European Heritage and Citizenship (Journal of European Studies, forthcoming 2022). Van Weyenberg has initiated various teaching innovation projects, among them a BA science communication trajectory and the Activating Podcast Method that she is developing, with the assistance of Nathalie Muffels, within the context of a first-year Literary Studies course.
