Andrea Balz

Dipl.-Ing. Andrea Balz is lecturer and researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien. Her background is a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Physics and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, both from the Technical University of Vienna. Her main topics in teaching and research include Assistive Technologies, Rehabilitation Technologies, Biomedical Signals, Medical Imaging and Medical Optics. She is currently project manager of two research projects in the fields of Digital training concepts in healthcare and Medical Optics. Furthermore, she is part of the research project teams of BERTL (Barrierfree Design for Teaching and Learning) and MedTech-mR, creating digital twins and simulation environments in virtual reality for medical room planning, staff training and related processes.
