Amin Hassani

Amin Hassani received his PhD in 2017 from KU Leuven, Belgium, department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) division STADIUS. He is a technology professional with over a decade of experience in designing audio signal processing algorithms for distributed and IoT-based speech communication systems. With a passion for innovative solutions, he has worked in different projects involving active noise control, background noise suppression, spatial audio and beamforming, echo cancellation, and audio source localization. In 2021, he co-founded CONNEXOUNDS (together with Dr. Giuliano Bernardi, prof. Marc Moonen and prof. Toon van Waterschoot) as a spin-off company of KU Leuven on a mission to make the hybrid collaboration simple and ubiquitous by removing the need for conferencing hardware in platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams. He has also been engaged at ESAT-STADIUS as a guest researcher.
