Jochen is Deputy Head of Research and Cooperation Projects at Deutsche Welle, also serving as Dissemination manager of vera.ai. The topical focus of Jochen’s work over the past decade has been on research dealing with disinformation analysis and verification of digital content and applying this to a journalistic context.
Jochen also lectures at the Free University Berlin, actively supports the NGO Lie Detectors by going into schools teaching them media literacy and how journalism works, and sits on the Advisory Boards of EDMO (European Digital Media Observatory), CEDMO and GADMO – all European initiatives against disinformation.
