Maarten Lamers is a computer science researcher and lecturer at Leiden University. His work combines artificial intelligence and computer science with other interests. Besides work on neural networks (AI), his research topics include robots, animal-computer interaction, and using organisms as part of computing systems. He frequently lectures on the importance of creativity and playfulness in research. Maarten was named one of the 100 most interesting nerds of The Netherlands.
