Giacinto Bottone

As a researcher at the Professorship of Organisations and Social Media, Giacinto Bottone focuses on exploring the influencer economy, with particular attention to responsible influencing and influencers’ self-perceived authenticity. Currently, he is involved in the European Influencers Academy (EIA) project at OSM, where he is interested in developing bottom-up interventions that actively invite influencers to take a seat in research and in the wider conversation about the professional field in which they operate.
Giacinto earned two Master’s degrees from the University of Groningen, in Journalism and Media Studies and in Film and Audiovisual Media. His dissertations explore media agents shaping minority discourses, and phenomenological explorations of lived media experiences. He worked as a journalist for over four years before joining the Creative Business program at NHL Stenden in 2022.
