Katja Shcherbakova

Katja Shcherbakova is a higher education professional specialising in digital and AI literacy in teaching and learning. She works as a project leader in the field of digital literacy and AI for educators at Maastricht University. In this role, she has led the development of digital literacy initiatives, including the creation of a university-wide digital literacy vision, digital literacy competence frameworks, and their integration into professional development, curriculum design, and teaching qualifications. Her work focuses on creating coherence across institutional initiatives by connecting frameworks, educational practice, and support structures, and on supporting educators and students in making informed, responsible use of digital and AI-based technologies. Katja is actively involved in national on digital capability frameworks, responsible AI in education, and flexible learning pathways in higher education.
