Carlo Schuengel is full professor of Clinical Child and Family Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He focuses on caregiving and the developmental of mental health, in the context of families as well as in social welfare and long-term care settings. He leads the academic collaborative center Viveon of ‘s Heeren Loo and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where researchers, scientist-practitioners, and experts of experience work together to address questions around (1) autonomy and freedom, (2) family, care, and life course, and (3) Development and learning. He leads work funded by the National Science Agenda in the Netherlands on vulnerability and resilience of neurodivergent youth in the online society.
